Happy (-)50th Anniversary, First Contact

“Don’t try to be a great man. Just be a man, and let history make its own judgments.”–Rhetorical nonsense

Today we can celebrate what will happen in fifty years. On this day, in 2063, humanity will make first contact with an alien intelligence. This is according to the canon of the future: Star Trek.

To celebrate, I need to watch Star Trek: First Contact, for they show the first interactions between humans and the Vulcans. This was after Zefram Cochrane performed his first successful warp experiments in which humans, for the first time, went faster than the speed of light.

Science advances, and with it new horizons. Resistance is futile.
